Toyota Frees Fuel-Cell Vehicle Patents To Open Door For Rivals To Expand Market
The world’s largest automaker made good on its stated commitment to shift automobiles away from gasoline by “making available for free more than 5,000 patents related to fuel-cell vehicles (FCV)” to help catalyze efforts by other carmakers. The FCV is “the ultimate clean-air car because it emits only water and heat, and no carbon dioxide or other pollutants,” according to Asahi Shimbun.
