NOW LIVE ON WhoWhatWhy

Exclusive: Oklahoma City Bombing Breakthrough, Part 2 of 2
by Roger Charles
Yesterday, we told you about new evidence of a likely undercover intelligence operative who associated with Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh in the period prior to the bombing, and about a government cover-up that continues to the present. Today, the rest of the murky story behind one of America’s worst tragedies.

WHO

Obama Regrets Drone Strike That Killed Hostages But Hails US For Transparency
The President took “full responsibility” for the “accidental” deaths of Dr. Warren Weinstein, a US government aid worker, and Giovanni Lo Porto, an Italian aid worker. The two were being held hostage in an al-Qaeda compound when a drone strike targeted the facility based on “near-certain” intelligence that it was “frequented” by at least one al-Qaeda leader. Alas, the families of countless Pakistani, Afghani and Yemeni victims of the woefully imprecise drone war are still waiting for apologies.

Jeb Bush Says NSA Surveillance is “the best part of the Obama administration”
The Next Bush In Line just praised Obama! Hooray… bipartisanship lives! Of course, it’s always been the order of the day when it comes to the National Security State. To wit, not only did Jeb compliment Obama for prolonging and enhancing his brother’s spying regime, the House just passed an NSA-boosting cybersecurity bill by an overwhelming tally of 307–116.

Clinton Cash Author Is Targeting Jeb Bush Next
Last Sunday, author Peter Schweizer unleashed the hounds on the Clinton’s financial empire and that, in turn, has led to a flood of stories about their influence peddling, tax hijinks and charitable profiteering. Next up for Schweizer… The Next Bush In Line. Now there’s some bipartisanship we can all endorse… and some transparency the upcoming coronation sorely needs.

Chinese Scientists Genetically Modify Human Embryos
Although it is not yet effective, Chinese scientists have “edited” the genomes of human embryos. The key word here is “yet,” because this breakthrough signals that a brave new world of designer humans is nearly here.

WHAT

US Bridges Falling Down Get No Help From Record ’15 Muni Sales
Thanks to the Fed and a go-go financial climate, it’s cheaper than ever to borrow money. And while municipalities have issued a record $130 billion bonds, very little of that money is being used to rebuild America’s crumbling infrastructure. Too bad the Pentagon can’t find $1.3 billion in emergency reconstruction aid spent in Afghanistan. It sure could come in handy.

WHY

Comcast Plans to Drop Time Warner Cable Deal
Bloomberg is reporting that Comcast’s contentious bid to create an unprecedented cable & media behemoth… is about to go the way of the dodo bird. In recent months, consumer advocates and key members of Congress have applied a great deal of pressure on FCC regulators and Department of Justice officials reviewing the epic bid. Tomorrow, Comcast will formally announce it is walking away from the deal. It looks like the pressure worked.
