Of all the polarizing aspects of the debate over election laws, the need for ID to vote is one of the most divisive.

On one side are people who have real trouble with the idea that Americans can’t simply go to the DMV and pick up a license.

On the other side are people like Joy, a sex trafficking victim for whom getting ID isn’t as easy as some on Twitter might think it is.
