The author writes, “Tens of thousands of NFTs that were once deemed the newest rage in tech and dragged in celebrities, artists and even Melania Trump have now been declared virtually worthless. According to a new report by dappGambl that reviewed data from NFT Scan and CoinMarketCap, 69,795 out of 73,257 NFT collections have a market cap of 0 Ether, leaving 95% of those holding NFT collections — or 23 million people — with worthless investments. Thousands of Christians Condemn ‘Immoral’ MAGA Republican Budget Goals (Al)
From Newsweek: “While Congress has until September 30 to act on government funding, thousands of Christians have signed a petition to oppose proposed budget cuts made by MAGA Republicans, urging them to pass a ‘moral budget’ instead. In its petition … Faithful America, an organization of Christians supporting social justice causes while opposing ‘Christian nationalism,’ wrote that Republican leaders are proposing to cut funding to clean water, climate change programs, food assistance for women and children, and other programs. While these proposals have not yet been voted on, Faithful America added in its petition … that these proposals are ‘immoral’ and ‘unnecessary’ since these essential elements of funding are hurtful towards communities in need.”
‘Corners Are Cut to Dispense Prescriptions,’ CVS Employee Tells Ohio Board of Pharmacy (Dana)
From the Ohio Capital Journal: “At least eight CVS pharmacies in Ohio are so understaffed that they have seen rampant turnover, dirty conditions, lack of controls over dangerous drugs and wait times as long as a month for prescriptions, according to reports by the Ohio Board of Pharmacy. The waits have been so long that a harried CVS pharmacist in Wooster said he was ‘actively triaging prescriptions to ensure lifesaving, life-sustaining medications are filled in a timely manner.’”
Are Electric Cars Really Better for the Environment? (Gerry)
The author writes, “Electric vehicles, you might have heard, have a mineral problem. Beneath the floor of an EV sits a 900-pound battery filled with minerals extracted from around the world. Millions of tons of lithium, cobalt, bauxite and other minerals are mined, processed, shipped and refined — sometimes leaving a trail of human rights and environmental abuses. For some, that makes fossil fuel engines look good by comparison. No one wants to drive around on the cobalt equivalent of blood diamonds. But does all this mining negate the climate and environmental benefits of EVs compared to sticking with gas?”

The author writes, “Five flamingos that showed up in Wisconsin to wade along a Lake Michigan beach attracted a big crowd of onlookers eager to see the unusual visitors venturing far from their usual tropical setting. The American flamingos spotted Friday in Port Washington, about 25 miles (40 kilometers) north of Milwaukee, marked the first sighting of the species in Wisconsin state history, said Mark Korducki, a member of the Wisconsin Society for Ornithology.”
