A judge recently heard a case brought against the Trump administration for their staff’s use of encrypted messaging apps. Most encrypted apps delete messages soon after sending and thus leave no record of the conversation. While administrations are not legally forced to keep all records, the suit argues use of encrypted apps does not allow the discretion of choosing what to keep and what not.

Last quarter, former director Richard Cordray asked for $217.1 million. Cordray, an appointee of President Barack Obama, needed just $86.6 million the quarter before that. And Wednesday, President Donald Trump’s acting CFPB director, Mick Mulvaney, sent his first request to the Fed. He requested zero.”
