You may be wondering: What’s next for WhoWhatWhy? Glad you asked!

We’re not exactly a household name — not yet, but we’re coming on like gangbusters. We’ve grown a lot in the past year, and so has our audience. We have more people, more content, and more aspirations to help explain and improve this crazy world in our modest but — we hope — effective way.

That means an even bigger operation around voting rights in 2020 than we had in the 2018 midterm elections, when our award-winning coverage was picked up by major news outlets around the world. You’ll be hearing more about this ambitious project soon. But for now, you can subscribe to our Election Integrity newsletter here

It means not being just another reactive news outfit, stoking the flames of controversy, but digging deep for context and potential solutions.

It means expanding into new beats — not just into additional geographic and subject areas, but delving deep into the terrain of the mind, for so much of what shapes our destiny is how we see things.

And how we see things can be heavily influenced by those who do not have our well-being in mind. So expect us to tackle the excesses of propaganda and disinformation, the problems of following the journalistic herd, information overload, the general lack of civil discourse, and much more.

Our expansion also means bolstering the “back end” of WhoWhatWhy. You don’t see it, but it makes all the exciting journalism we do possible — creating the infrastructure for further growth. Bringing on more web developers and programmers, designers, marketing folks, fundraising experts, user-experience experts, and managers to keep everything on track.

Most of all, we’re redoubling our effort to be the place where smart people who think for themselves go to be stimulated and challenged. We hope this flurry of activity pleases you, and, as always, we welcome your ideas, your support, and your participation.

Thanks for being part of this adventure in honesty.
