Donald Trump Uses Fallen American Troops for Propaganda and Fundraising

07/26/26

The president’s remarks prior to the dignified transfer suggest troops communicated support for him and the Iran war.

President Donald J. Trump makes every event about himself, even the dignified transfer of troops killed in the Iraq war.

Recently he attended the dignified transfer of 1st Lt. Tyler Feehan, Pvt. Isabelle Gonzales, Sgt. Angel Rampersad, and Sgt. Michael Swinton. Prior to boarding Air Force One to travel to Dover, Trump said, “All of them said very strongly, ‘We cannot let Iran have a nuclear weapon.’”

This sounded similar to his claim about Sen. Lindsey Graham’s (R-SC) last words. Trump said, “What makes it even stranger is that I got a call last night, sometime in the early evening… and he called, and he said we’re all set for the SAVE America Act. He was pushing the SAVE America Act like crazy.”

Then, around the same time as the transfer, the Defense Department decided to remove the names of these last four soldiers killed in the Iran conflict. The excuse offered was that we are in a ceasefire now, so the deaths don’t count.

To add insult to injury, the Trump campaign is sending out email fundraisers using a photo of Trump at another dignified transfer. This is all happening at the same time.

As Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) said, “It is a disgrace.”

“.. the Trump administration decided to remove four service members killed this past weekend from the list .. because their deaths occurred after President Trump declared a cease-fire ..”@nytimes.com www.nytimes.com/2026/07/23/u…
